Chameleons of the sea: colour change and behaviour in a changing world
Chameleons of the sea: colour change and behaviour in a changing world
ABSTRACT
Dr. Martin Stevens is Professor in Sensory Ecology and Evolution at the University of Exeter and one of the leading figures in the field of animal vision and adaptive coloration patterning. His work ranges from mechanistic approaches to understand animal vision, to functional approaches understanding the costs and benefits of different types of patterning, specifically in relation to environmental variation. His strengths and interests are heavily anchored in a strong technical background, which allows him to easily switch from working with seahorse, to real horses and from crabs, to moths, to humans (mostly students).
